• MBE for champion of hen welfare

    The founder of a hen welfare charity has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list. Jane Howorth, who set up the British Hen Welfare Trust in 2005, has been recognised for her charitable work which has grown from a ‘one-woman-and-a-van’ operation rescuing battery hens, into a national organisation that promotes hen welfare and the British free range egg industry.

    Thank you to all of the staff from Countrywide who attended the Countrywide Equestrian Autumn/Winter Launch Day at Hartpury College on the 25th August. Despite a full day of intensive training, from rugs to footwear and horse health to feed, staff remained enthusiastic and keen to learn.

    This year’s British Riding Clubs Area 1 Festival was held on 4th and 5th July at The Scottish National Equestrian Centre, West Lothian, Dengie sponsored prizes for the dressage classes.
