How long have you been riding?
I started riding from the age of 12 as my best friend at school had 3 horses. None of my family has a horsey background so it was completely new territory.
What is your favourite horsey activity?
I love following top level eventing, but I prefer doing dressage myself.
What is your most embarrassing horsey moment?
Definitely falling off the “safest, confidence giving horse” during my stage 3 jumping phase. It put in a nasty stop and I jumped the fence and he didn’t! To make matters worse I had a big audience including the yard manager, my instructor and lots of fellow students. Thankfully I got back on and continued with the course and cross country phase to pass.
Who is your all time horsey hero?
I really admire Mary King, she is such a talented rider and such a down to earth lovely person, I have met her a few times. I also used to work with Clayton and Lucinda Fredericks who have an incredible way with their horses, which are all so happy on the yard as well, which is lovely to see.
Other hobbies?
I love cooking and attempt to grow my own veg (with plenty of assistance from my mother) and then cook what I produce. I also enjoy any activity that involves being outside and regularly spent time with my cheeky nephew and niece.
