Happy New Year! Last year positively flew by and it only seems like yesterday that I was welcoming you all to 2009. Whilst we’re told the economic climate may be looking a little brighter than this time last year we’re not out of the woods just yet. I can say with pride that I stuck to last year’s New Year’s resolution of loaning my books from a library rather than buying them. The trouble is as I’m useless at budgeting and recording my expenditure I can’t really tell you what I spent the saved money on. However, I can hazard a guess that some of it got spent at Badminton, HOYS and Your Horse Live to name a few and so there is still plenty of room for improvement this year!
Whilst it may still be cold and gloomy outside we are already looking ahead to spring. This quarter and next we are focusing on breeding. In Everything Explained Katie Williams advises on feeding the stallion and in Diet Planning I give our top tips for feeding the broodmare, many of whom will shortly be entering their last trimester.
