Hannah Esberger-Shepherd

29th October 2010

The yard had an outing yesterday to Field House E.C - three full lorries in total went... and we took home 7 wins and a third!!

Jessica Strawson who is 16 was riding Willability William a lovely, big, young horse who won the first Prelim with 68% and came third in her second Prelim...she set the standard for the day.

Next went Laura Woodcock, also 16 riding 6 year old Whisper in the Elementary scoring 69% winning the restricted Elementary , coming second to me with Welkom who scored 73.5%. I was pleased with Welkoms attitude in the test as he was quite hot in the working in. In the next Elementary the tables turned... Laura and Whisper won the Restricted with 72% and I won the open with 70% but came second to Laura who was modestly pleased at beating her trainer.

It was Vanita's turn next..he won both his Medium classes with over 70%...he also was a good boy in the arena despite being hot in the warming in.

Field House has just recently finished a complete makeover, there are now huge outdoor arenas and superb surfaces, along with the owners always being helpful it makes it a pleasure to compete there.

Gaining good results make a long day much shorter, we all returned quite happy to spend time wrapping up the horses for the night.

P.s. Vanita has been invited by Brightwell Auctions to compete in the Champion of Champions competition at their annual auction in November, so I'm busy sorting out music for him..looking forward to that the atmosphere is always electric!!
