A Frustrating month

It's been a frustrating month with a couple of events being cancelled due to bad weather, and some of the horses having time off with silly problems...

However, we have managed to fit in a couple of team chases, which have been great fun - if not a little hairy! The 'three blondes and a brunette' team is made up of Louise (my new head girl), Jules (who owns the yard), Lucy (who's based at ours) and myself with The Honey Monster (Cornflake) as my faithful steed. Sadly we've been too speedy to finish in the ribbons, but when we pluck up courgae to upgrade, I'm sure we'll come into our own!

We're having a slight reshuffle at the moment, Javelin - who is owned by Carolyn Bates is on the 'transfer list' along with Cornflake and Wallstraed (Jack) which is dissappointing as they're all lovely horses with great futures.

On a positive note I've been given two lovely young horses to ride in a few events - Squirrel, a six year old gelding and Lennox, a big Irish horse who also has real star quality.

Uluru II (Skippy) - Kangasong's younger brother - is also booked in for some pre-novices, but frustratingly he banged his knee last week, so missed some work. I'm hoping he'll recover in time to make at least one event before the end of the season.

I'm actually looking forward to things quietening down a bit, it gives me a bit more time with the young horses and allows us to start clipping the hairy monsters in the field!

I'm also looking forward to spending some more time with Noah, who's now three months old and very cute. Well as long as I don't get roped into changing those nappies...
