A welcomed addition to the Jackson family

We’re now the Jackson four - Florence Apple Jackson joined us at 1.03pm on Monday 15th November, weighing in at a healthy 7.13 Ibs! She’s settled in very well and we’re all looking forward to our first Christmas together.

Despite it being ‘down time’ we’re jolly busy at the yard. We have two new members of the team…Polly Adams and Rhea Macleod both come with lots of experience and have already got into the swing of things.

Most of the horses are back from their holidays now so the girls’ initiation has involved lots of clipping! Jagganath (Jack) and W Iridium (Viz) were particularly woolly and are very smug now they’re in their warm stables especially with the freezing temperatures we’ve had.

I’ve also been being out hunting a couple of times a week with the Heythrop. The Master’s Apprentice (Archie) and Wallaby (Wally) have settled into their winter roles but have both been keeping me in check with the odd cheeky buck.Next week I’ve got Equine Pathway training at Addington which I’m looking forward to but I do hope it gets a bit warmer - minus 7 is pretty tough going! On the bright side perhaps we’re in for a white Christmas…
