Another MSc for Dengie Nutritionist Team!
8th May 2008
Dengie's award winning nutritionist team is celebrating the completion of another MSc with Claire Akers having successfully completed her studies. Claire's MSc takes the total in the team to 3 - making the Dengie team one of the best qualified nutritionist teams in the UK horse industry!
As part of her MSc Claire undertook various research assignments and based her thesis on an investigation into the use of Oregano essential oil as a natural antioxidant for horses. Claire says; "it was not the most glamourous of subjects to choose as it meant collecting urine from 10 horses over a 10 week collection period! By the end of the period I was just about used to the smell, but I hope that it will prove useful for Dengie's ongoing new product development process!"
Claire has worked for Dengie for approximately 2 years having joined from college with a BSc in Equine Science. She is a keen show jumper currently competing her warmblood gelding in discovery and newcomer classes. We hope you will join with us all at Dengie in congratulating Claire on her success and wish her all the best in her career with Dengie.
If you would like Claire to help you with your horse's diets, the why not give her a call on 0845 345 5115!
