Back to the reality of muddy and hairy horses

It seems like ages since my last blog! I have been away on holiday in South Africa and the horses have been on their holidays in the field!South Africa was amazing! Lovely and hot, beautiful sights and I even managed to have my horse fix while out there! Huw (my boyfriend) and I went trekking in the wine lands. It was a bit on the slow side for me, and a bit on the painful side for Huw (he hasn't ridden since he was little), but the horses were excellent and the views were breathtaking! I was a little apprehensive about going riding as I wasn't sure what condition the horses would be in, but they all looked fit and happy and the yard was stunning!

I was back to reality though last week when I was greeted by my bunch of muddy, hairy fat looking horses! They had obviously enjoyed their holiday too....

The last few days have been spent clipping, washing and de-muddying horses! They have had new shoes put on and two new saddles from Sue Carson have arrived...we are now all set to start the winter training!
