BSJA Area 40 Report & Results
26th May 2011
Finchingfield Equestrian Centre welcomed the BSJA Senior Area 40 show for the first time in 2011 and were blessed with great weather.
The newly refurbished all weather and warm-up arenas were enjoyed by some stalwarts and new faces too. All class winners were presented with lovely British Showjumping rugs, the first of these going to Volare III and Tracy Garner in the KBIS Insurance Senior Novice.
Danielle Dickson is on her way to the Scope Festival with a win on Uno VII in the Katherine James 1m Novice Championship Qualifier with Charlotte Atkins taking the 1m Amateur Qualifier on Sierra Leone.
Theo Simpson headed the 1.05m Scope Qualifier on Waasif and the ever competitive Melissa Eagles headed a strong field in the 1.15m Smarter Transport Members Cup.
Finally the Blue Ribbon 1.20m Open went to the hugely successful Obelix Z and Philip Knight with Poppy Rollit-Mason and Kuznik and Jade Burley and Ayrton II .
Thanks to Equestrian Events Ltd who let BSJA Area 40 hijack one of their pony dates in order to run the pony show at Towerlands Park.
The 70cms Open was won by a prolific Area 40 winner ~Toni Evans on Miniature Hero, while seven combinations were equal first in the Stepping Stones Handicap. The Pony British Novice saw a good win for Emily Cooper, who’s following in the footsteps of her parents who’ve been consistent winners and supporters of Area 40 showjumping for many years.
Lucinda May and Owen Maxwell triumphed in the Pony Discovery while Carrbrook Special Edition teamed up with Toni Evans to win the 90cm Open.
The Pony Progressive combined with the 1m Open and saw a good win for Tullamore Girl and Harriet Leader-White and she headed the Scope Qualifiers from the Progressive Section.
Authorised and Lorraine Lock jumped impressive rounds to win the 1.10m Open and the 1.15m Members Cup
