Busy Few Weeks
The last few weeks have been really busy! I have taken "Nutty" to do her first novice at Broadway. She went really well especially in the cross-country - she's a real speed machine and ended up coming 5th. Ella also went to do her first Intro and was good, although she was a bit green in the show jumping.
Cornflake has also been out to do his first Intermediate at Aston-Le-Walls and he was a star getting an excellent dressage mark of 31 and ending up 3rd. A great result for his owners Clare and Alex, as he was only brought as a hunter so he's doing pretty well! I have also taken Julia's horse, Daisy Duke to her first event of the season and despite the pouring rain and soggy conditions she ended up a respectable 5th in the Pre-Novice.
Although the rain is a bit of a drag when you are working outside it has made a difference to the ground and grass - so it is very welcome after the long dry April that we had.
I have also been busy lately preparing the younger horses for the Burghley Young Event Horse classes at Chepstow. Skippy and Fritz are doing the 4 year old class and Jack is doing the five year old.
As well as the horses - I have done a photo shoot for Horse & Hound, which was good fun. I had to pose in different outfits with a few other riders, which was quite embarrassing - but I got a few new tops out of the day - very handy!
Will write soon!
