Caspian Day a Great Success
14th May 2009
Everyone at the Henden and Lanhill Stud breathed a huge sigh of relief when the weather turned out bright and sunny for the Intelligent Horsemanship Day with Sarah Weston on the 19th April. Fleur Scott, the owner of Henden and Lanhill Stud, Dale Linney, Holly Dale and Angela Leadbetter, the chairperson of the Caspian Society, were on hand to give expert advice and to show everyone around the stud. Dengie Equine Nutritionist Tracey Hammond was also on hand to give feeding advice, although as many of the Caspian's are good doers Dengie fibre based diets were already being used very successfully!
With over 50 people in attendance Sarah Weston demonstrated some fascinating techniques and covered everything from a foal’s first headcollar, handling an untouched horse to desensitising older horses. Along with her colleague, Julie Noviss, Sarah kept up informative and inspirational commentary throughout the day. This was the first event of its kind held by the Caspian Horse Society and the day was a great success.
