Celebrations and sad farewells

It’s been a quiet month at the yard – some of the horses are still on holiday and the others have been gently ticking over. I’ve had some good days out hunting with the Heythrop with Billy Be Cool (Billy) and Sea Summer Bay (Paddy). Jagganath (Jack) and Kangasong (Joey) are feeling fit and well and are busy practicing for their dressage competitions coming up at Hunters.

It’s a sad good bye to one of Equestrian Direct’s lovely young horses - Direct Diamond Lad (Carrick) he’s gone to another eventing home so hopefully we’ll see him out next year.

We had a good day at Your Horse Live. You’ve never seen so many keen horsey folk looking for a bargain – it was also nice to see some of the other riders doing demos there.

It’s been a social couple of weeks – we had a great night at Jules Stiller’s end of season party at Headley Stud. It was one of the most impressive parties we’ve been to and we had lots of fun with our fellow eventers on the mirrored dance floor!

Closer to home Florence turned one this month and also got christened - we had a lovely service and family lunch in Bledington which also doubled-up as a birthday gathering for Ellie.

It’s the countdown to Christmas now (when we’ll spend most of the day mucking out!) – hope you all have a good one and a happy new year.
