Dengie Ride 2008

7th May 2008

Riders set out on the Dengie Ride 2008The chilly weather on Saturday 19th April did not deter riders from saddling up for the 9th Annual Dengie Ride, run in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Burnham on Crouch and Dengie Hundred.

This popular fundraising event, organised by the Rotary Club of Burnham on Crouch and Dengie Hundred and sponsored by Dengie Crops Ltd, attracted 70 enthusiastic riders of all ages and abilities.  The riders started out from Dammerwick Farm on either an 8 mile route or a 13 mile route, taking them through countryside and along the coastline over private farmland.  Both the routes finished back at Dammerwick Farm where the Rotary Club was on hand with bacon rolls, burgers and hot tea.

One of Dengie's nutrtional advisers, Tracey Hammond braved the cold to dispense feed advice and free samples.

The Rotary Club hopes to have raised in the region of £1000 and all proceeds will be donated to charity.  For more photographs please visit www.burnhamrotary.info
