Nicoll Show Team

Great start to 2010

The Nicoll show Team have been working hard since January to get the show ponies back into work. The snow at the start caused havoc on the yard but at last it has gone and the ponies are getting on well with their training. They are all starting to look good again with shining coats thanks to Alfa A feed balancer and Alfa A.

We have two new additions this year to the Team a large show riding type/hack Jivetime Frightfully Nice owned by Jenny Gilchrist. Fifi is a complete baby but has been schooling well and hopefully wont be long before she is in the ring. The other is a beautiful Connemara gelding Carlingford Cherub who has had great success in the ring, which we hope will continue with us.

We ventured out on Valentines Day to a show up in North East Fife. It was dark and freezing when we left but it was a glorious day with the sun shining at the show.
Zoe-Martella took Cherub into the Open Ridden M&M class and they were 2nd. She then rode Jack of Diamonds in the Novice Intermediate Show Riding Type class which they Won and went Champion. Later in the day they both contested the Mixed Height Open Show Pony class which they also Won and went Champion.

Kimberley rode Riversdale Poker in the Mixed Height Show Hunter Pony class after working him in for a while due to him feeling so good after a winters break, Poker decided to show off a bit too much to the spectators!! and they were 2nd. Kimberley then decided to enter him in the Open Mixed Height Show Hunter Pony class where he behaved impeccably and they Won and went Champion.

So we headed off home very pleased with the ponies as they had all qualified for the BSPS Winter Championships show in April .

Our next outing will be on the 6th March where we will be chasing Royal International Show Qualifiers and we will let you all now how we did next month. Until then I shall be sat in the office on the internet with my nose in my diary doing all my entries for the up and coming shows this season in between working the yard and ponies.
