How do you turn Alfalfa Pellets in to ice cream?

9th August 2011

How do you turn Alfalfa Pellets in to ice cream? Well Adrian and Melanie Kinner-Smith of The Goat Ice Cream Company know how; just add goats!

Melanie started using goat’s milk when her youngest son developed eczema. After finding it difficult to source healthy goat desserts for all the family, Melanie and her husband Adrian decided to do something about it and started to manufacture and retail their own dairy goat’s ice cream.

Melanie already fed Dengie Alfalfa Pellets to her horses and decided to feed them to the dairy goats as well. Melanie says that the goats do really well on the Alfalfa Pellets and that they really enjoy them. Furthermore Melanie soaks the Alfalfa Pellets enabling her to feed them to the kids (baby goats) as well.
