Carly Millbank
Just 3 months to go!
With 6 months of pregnancy behind me I am now feeling the frustration that every rider must go through whilst with child! The summer schedules have been released, qualifying dates announced and the new championship classes revealed for 2008 - and I am sidelined!! Typical!
I am still riding and am having a great time concentrating on Luca and Whinny's flat work, although they are slightly confused as to where all the extra weight has come from.
I have done one show since I last wrote. Luca came 2nd and Whinny 5th in their respective classes. I felt this was a good show to finish on before the baby comes. I am jumping them lightly at home but nothing serious.
I have had my last pregnancy scan where everything looked fine. We have chosen not to find out the sex of the baby so are all waiting in anticipation to see if we have bred a John Whitaker or a Di Lampard!
This week has been manic with Neal and I packing up our whole yard into containers ready for storage as the demolition date for the stable block is looming! Tomorrow will see the arrival of monstorus plant equipment to wipe out the yard ready for ground works for the new barn to be built upon. At last things are happening!
We have moved the horses to a livery yard in Saffron Walden where they have settled well. Luca was somewhat concerned that he had been sold hence the new home - we have reassured him that we all still adore him and that his home with us is for life!
Next week will be the first time Heather, the lady who is taking over the ring riding on the horses jumps them in competition; I am really looking forward to seeing them out and about again - hopefully with success!
My aim for Luca is that he qualifies for B and C championships and Whinny for Newcomer 2nd rounds and 6 year old classes.
That is all my news for now, until next time when I can hopefully reveal photos of the new yard and results of Heathers first few shows. Have fun!
