Knaptoft - the highlight of the month

Knaptoft was the highlight for me this month – Jagganath (Jack) won his intermediate section and Wish Upon A Star (Whiz) took the top spot in the CIC one star. A great result for both of them, and it certainly doesn’t hurt their Le Lion selection campaign…

Both Jack and Robbie Be Good also had good runs at Barbury earlier in the month. Jack did a lovely test, one down, and clear cross country in the CIC two star, which was really pleasing as it was probably his biggest test so far. Robbie finished 10th in the novice with a 26, double clear.

Daisy Duke and Downleadon also put in good performances in the intermediate at Stockton Lovell. Sadly it was my last run on Daisy, after four years together, as she’s been sold. I’ll miss riding her but I’m glad she’s got a good home, and hopefully she’ll do well with her new rider.

I’ve also got Squirrel Nutkin back to compete, a horse I’ve ridden in the past, as his owner wants him to have some novice runs before he’s sold. He’s gone well at two novices already, so he should be snapped up by someone.

Up With The Lark has finished his stud work for the year, so he’s back home getting fit and nearly ready to run. He’ll be aimed at Weston Park two star in October.

Away from the horses I’ve been busy being a baby taxi – Ellie’s back at work, so it’s now my job to do the nursery run in the mornings. So far, so good…..
