May 2010 - 2 Royal International Tickets Won!!

We have only been out a few times this month as Daphne (the wagon) has been getting her makeover finished and we are still trying to find time to put her off the road for her respray! Kimberley started her new job this month with Barclays Bank so it has been all go on the yard for Zoe and myself.

We were out at Stewarton and Dunlop show where we had a successful day. Zoe won the 143cm shp class with Harry and Kimmie won the 153cm class with Poker but due to a stray cow entering the ring and scattering the line up a little girl fell off her pony and Kimberley being a First Aider forfeited her championship and jumped off to her rescue at which point Zoe was getting chased round the ring on Harry by the cow and to cut a long story short Zoe stood reserve SHP Champion.

Kimberley rode our novice ISRT Fifi in the open ISRT and was 2nd they also did the Part Bred Arab class where they were 2nd to Zoe and Jack who won the class and went on to be Reserve Champion Arab.

We set off the following weekend down south where we stabled at a beautiful yard owned by Liz Cross and competed firstly at BSPS Area 2B on the Saturday where Zoe and Jack won the 148cm Show Pony class first thing in the morning. Kimberley rode Poker in the RIHS 153cm class but due to the rain he could not get a grip on his feet and decided it was not for him on this occasion. (I must add he ended up getting his first set of plates on as soon as he returned home and he feels as proud as punch with them on). Zoe and Harry were 2nd in their RIHS 143cm SHP class which was good enough to give them their ticket. Kimberley not wanting to be outdone by her sister rode Cherub in the RIHS NF and Connie class which they won and Qualified. Two tickets on the one day!!!! Well done Girls. We were supposed to go to Hambleton the following day but decided that the ponies had all done well so we ended up having a lazy day in the wagon watching tv all day!!

Next day we set off to NPS Area 5 to a glorious day. Zoe and Cherub were 2nd in the Junior M&M and Reserve Champion. Zoe then rode Harry in the HOYS 143cm SHP where they were 5th, Kimberley then rode Poker in the 153cm HOYS SHP where they were 6th which we were absolutely delighted with. Jack later in the afternoon was 2nd in the 148cm SP and Cherub with Kimberley were 5th in a very strong junior RIHS M&M class. So a good weekend all in all.

At Central and West Fife Show which was held on a new show field which was absolutely perfect with stunning views the ponies had a good show. Zoe and Harry won the 143cm SHP, Kimberley and Poker were 2nd in the 153cm SHP and stood Reserve Champion. Cherub who was ridden by Lucinda Stapleton on this occasion won the ridden NF and Connie class and then went on to win the mixed M&M Inhand class and take the Championship.
