New Health Food for hooves from Dengie

20th February 2007

Dengie Healthy Hooves, a new alfalfa blend fibre feed is packed with Biotin which is proven to maintain healthy hooves. In humans Biotin is often recommended for strengthening hair and nails. In Dengie Healthy Hooves this, combined with chelated trace minerals, other B-group vitamins and garlic, helps to create good skin and coat condition as well as to support the body's immune system.

The Laminitis Trust states that common causes of laminitis are obesity and overeating foods rich in carbohydrate or rapidly fermentable fibre i.e. cereals, coarse mixes, rapidly growing or fertilised grass. "Healthy Hooves combines all the "anti-laminitis" health benefits of feeding Alfalfa - a high protein, very low-carbohydrate, slow release energy source, rich in anti-oxidants, with the nutrients required to support healthy hooves" explains Katie Williams, M.Sc. (Dist) B.Sc. (Hons) R Nutr; Senior Nutritionist for Dengie.? Dengie Healthy Hooves has received the approval of the Laminitis Trust making it the fourth in Dengie's stable of brands entitled to carry the Laminitis Trust mark.

Dengie Healthy Hooves is the fourth Dengie brand to have received the approval of the Laminitis Trust making it the company with the most brands entitled to carry the mark.? Dengie's Managing Director, Ian Hassard says: "We know the challenges owners with laminitis-prone horses and ponies face and we have developed a simple and effective formula to help them address the diet-related issues. We are thrilled that Dengie Healthy Hooves has the approval of the Laminitis Trust as this gives our customers further peace of mind that they are doing the very best for their horses' health".
