New horse for the New Year

Happy New Year!

Well its been a very quiet Christmas and New Year due to all the snow and ice! The yard has just cleared up this week and we can now get horseboxes down the drive, as you can imagine we have been stuck in the small indoor school for the last six weeks, its just big enough to do a twenty meter circle in! We are lucky though that we have been able to keep the horses in work as I know there are lots of horses around the area who haven't even been able to get out of their stables. All the boys have had intensive dressage schooling and are amazing at circles but not so good at straight lines anymore!
 
Yesterday was the first time I could ride in the outdoor school so I gave them all a much needed jumping session, needless to say they were all very excited by this! I also had a lady over to look at George and subject to the vetting he should be on his way to a new home next week!

I had Sonic in for schooling over Christmas and when the time came for his owner to pick him up I couldn't let him go so I bought him! I know its not the best idea buying every horse I get in for schooling but he was far too nice to send home!! So we now have a three year old to play with which is great fun - I can't wait to get him out and about!

While it has been so quiet I got Sue Carson up to look at all my saddles and correct the balance with the flair system before the start of the season. Bud also got his new dressage and jumping saddles, I can now do sitting trot which is amazing - he's such a bone shaker.

I hope by the next blog I will have been off the yard, role on summer!
