New horses for the Nicholls show team

We have had a busy time up till now. We have purchased Elvet Challenger (the Section B stallion we sold earlier this season) back onto the yard although unfortunately he has been gelded whilst away... Poor Boy.

We also ventured off to the Scottish Welsh Show with Elvet Challenger where he won the Open Ridden small breeds and was Reserve Champion with Kimberley riding him. He also won the members ridden class with Zoe.
Kimberley took Rotherwood Rainbow into the inhand Part Bred class which they won and were reserve champion overall.

Sofie unfortunately is going to be too big for Mountcharles Firefly next year so he has been sold to the McCartney family since we last posted but we are happy to let you know that he is staying on the yard to be produced for the 2011 show season. Katelin an 11 year old from Ayrshire shall be his jockey and we are looking forward to this new combination which we are sure will continue the success of this beautiful pony.

After a lovely flight to Wales Kimmy and I went to look for a new pony for Sofie and we came home with a new coloured pony called Monknash Moonwalk for her. Sally is a 4 year old who has been shown lightly in her first season but with massive success coming 3rd at RIHS and 8th at HOYS. We are very excited about this combination and they will definately be one for the watching in 2011.

We have a lovely section B mare called Penom Sha Tam for next season for Kimmy to ride, this big moving mare is sure to do well in the welsh novice ridden classes. Sunshine is owned by Mrs Barbara Fish from Lancashire and we are very pleased she chose us to have her.

We also have a beautiful coloured 2 year old horse to show inhand for next season. Skyes the Limit owned by Darran Watkins shall be shown in the coloured and part bred horse classes.

We have a new Intermediate SH/Small Hunter called Ozzie Spring who is no new comer to the ring after being to hoys in previous years. He has had a few years rest off the circuit and we are sure he will make his return debut full of enthusium with Kimmy aboard.
We were recently back in the south purchasing a new mount for the Burkhill Family and found a lovely 153cm SHP for Samantha called Smallland Smokescreen. Smokey has been to hoys on numerous occasions and we are hoping we can get Samantha and him there in 2011.

Our last purchase for next season is a beautiful part bred arab grey yearling gelding bred by Mrs Joyce Coltart called Tricula Solid Silver who will be shown by Johanna in inhand classes. He will eventually make an isrt. He is a very special boy with a great amount of presence and heaps of cheek to go with it, we think he's going to be some boy !!

We also have a few ponies in to be schooled at the moment so Zoe and I are very busy...we have been very lucky to have missed all the snow that everyone is getting at the moment and we are still in work so far. We have a show coming up in a fortnight so will let you all know how we got on.
