Success in the Rain

Now the season is well and truly underway there never seems to be enough hours in the day, plus the added problem of my injury (broken hand) which have made things extremely busy at the yard.

After a very successful Winter Championships with Boadicia we had a 24-hour turnaround before leaving for Saumur CDI with Wurlizer and Delegate. Both horses rose to the occasion with Wurlizer 5th and best Brit in the Under 25 GP and Delegate finishing best Brit in the Small Tour with a 5th, 7th and 8th placings. It was a fantastic experience made very challenging by monsoon like conditions!

Our next big show was Wellington Premier League last week, where Wurlizer excelled doing a lovely GP test for 68% finishing 3rd in a very large class. Delegate after a safe warm-up test in the PSG for 66%, went for it in what was to be his last Inter1 scoring a massive 71% and qualifying for the Nationals. He will now be contesting Inter11 classes from now on.

We have Sheepgate Premier League this weekend with four horses going and then we have the Hartpury Festival of Dressage 4th - 8th July. Hartpury is going to be an incredibly busy week for us, we have six horses going, Wurlizer in the FEI CDI3* GP, Delegate in the Inter11, Boadicia in the PSG plus three young horses in the Shearwater Championship - Headmore Roxanne, Headmore Wimoweh and Tantoni White Mischief.

Busy and exciting times ahead – I’ll try to keep you updated on how we get on.
