THE SEASON IS ALMOST UPON US - 4th March 2007
I can't believe it's March already, although you wouldn't know it with all this rain!
This week I have taken the horses up to Richard Phillip's yard in Aldlestrop to use the gallops. It is fantastic there because the surface is really good and the gallops are 6 furlongs, so it gives them a really good work out.
Cornflake and Rebble are going to Twelesdown next week (unless it is called off due to the rain) so I have been busy practicing this week. On Tuesday Spencer (Wilton) came to give me a flat lesson on Joey and Max, and on Friday I took Cornflake, Rebble and Max to West Wilts to practice their show jumping.
Ellie's been busy working this week so I have been riding her horse Skippy, who's coming on really well - I think I might have to steal him soon...!
Our dog Lolly (Lollipop) came into season this week, unfortunately she didn't like the husband we chose for her! She spent a day at "his place" but was not having any of it - so looks like there won't be any puppies for a while!
Fingers crossed things go well at Twelesdown - it would be nice to start the season with a win!
Mike
