Three wins on the trot!

October's been a pretty good month for me with three wins on the trot...

Squirrel Nutkin II won his pre-novice section at Holdenby, and followed up his good form with a 2nd at Tweseldown and a 10th rosette at Aldon. Sadly his owner has decided to sell him, but I've enjoyed riding him and he's got a great future ahead of him.

Kangasong also shone at Tweseldown with a win in the intermediate. He was actually a bit fresh in the dressage, but a beautiful clear in the show jumping and a fast cross country time put us at the top of the leader board. He feels fantastic at the moment and proved his star quality again at Aldon, with an excellant dressage of 27, one down show jumping, and clear cross country to finish second. He's now one point off advanced which is really exciting as he's only seven and also makes up for the disappointment of not being picked for Le Lion this year.

Jagganath was also right on form at Aldon, winning in his intermediate section with a 29 dressage, one down and clear inside the time cross country. I am thrilled with Jack's win, as again he's only six and I think he has a great future.

As well as the big boys, Kangasong's younger brother Uluru II went well at his second event of the year at Broadway, along with Malarkey who jumped well in the pre-novice.

I was sad to see the Honey Monster leave Manor Barn Stables this month. "Cornflake" has been at the yard longer than me, but having just had her fourth bady his owner decided to sell him and let someone else enjoy him.

Now the events have finished I'm starting to work down my "to do" list, which includes re-gravelling the yard, digging out ditches and sorting out the fencing - to name but a few jobs...the not so glamourous side of running an event yard!
