Case Study: Bertie
Bertie is a 4-year-old TB gelding that came out of racing last season and has been owned by Becky since November 2008. Unfortunately not long after settling in to his new home Bertie became cast in his stable and fractured a bone in his hock. This has meant a long period of box rest that Bertie has only just finished. During this time Bertie has struggled to maintain weight and Becky has had the additional worry of trying to feed for condition without making Bertie’s natural exuberance worse; a problem that was already being exacerbated by being on box rest!
Becky met with Leonie Pryor, Dengie’s Area Sales Manager for the North West and North Wales, at the end of April and following her advice started a ration based on Dengie Alfa-A Oil, Alfa-Beet, Alfa-A Balancer and Natural Vitality Digestive Health Plus. Bertie has only been on his new ration for a few weeks, but Becky has already noticed a real improvement in this short space of time. One of Becky’s main concerns was Bertie’s over-exuberance, but he has been really relaxed on his new ration. Becky is going to keep us updated with Bertie’s progress and more pictures will follow shortly so watch this space! The first picture dates from 24/07/09, the second 10/05/09 and the third 23/07/09.
