Sammy the Pony Club Pony

Sammy is a 14.2hh, 18 year old New Forest Pony who is owned by Heidi Seller. He competes in show jumping competitions but was lacking in stamina. Heidi described how if he was competing in more than one class each day that he would start off being fizzy and hard to control but run out of energy and start to refuse or knock poles down by the end of the day.

The suggested diet for Sammy was 2kgs of Hi-Fi Senior with 400gms of Hi-Fi Balancer.

Heidi found that on his new diet Sammy held his weight better and despite being at an age where many horses start to lose their top line, Sammy’s started to improve. Heidi also found that Sammy had a more consistent level of energy throughout the day and was actually successfully completing several classes each day. The highlight was qualifying for the second round of the Trailblazers competition.
