Case Study: Justin and Sasha

Gemma Petterson owns Justin and Sasha, two native types who she describes as chalk and cheese. Gemma has always found feeding a costly exercise especially during the winter months as both horses required different feeding regimes. However, since being on Dengie Hi-Fi Balancer Gemma says she no longer has this problem and that her feeding bill has just about halved due to finding a product that suits both horses.

JustinJustin is Gemma’s 16-year-old Connemara x gelding who competes at local level PC activities and excels at cross country. Although Gemma describes Justin as a real head turner, she stopped competing in one day events as Justin would go tense in the dressage arena and become as hot headed as a Thoroughbred racehorse. Gemma also had problems with Justin being a fussy feeder, which becomes an even bigger problem over the winter months. Since changing to Dengie Hi-Fi Balancer Justin eats up at every meal and also seems to have much improved concentration as he doesn’t get as worked up. Gemma is now so confident that Justin will remain level headed in dressage that she is now compiling a list of local one day events to participate in this year!

SashaSasha is Gemma’s 15.1hh Connemara mare who suffers from sweet itch and is prone to weight gain. Sasha has been brought on slowly and is still green at 6-years-old. Gemma says that Sasha often thinks that she is a human at times and is a very spooky individual on the ground. Gemma describes Sasha as a bit of a tank to ride and says that the hardest thing is keeping her concentration. Since changing to Dengie Hi-Fi Balancer Gemma has found that Sasha’s outlook has changed and that she can hack her for miles without a problem as she remains calm and is a pleasure to ride.

Gemma feels that with both of her horses she can now relax knowing she is feeding them all that they need. Gemma also made the comment that whoever said that grey horses don’t shine has obviously never fed Dengie Hi-Fi Balancer!
