Hi-Fi Lite

Hi-Fi LITE is the maintenance feed for horses and ponies prone to laminitis. Specially formulated with a low sugar coating, Hi-Fi LITE provides slow release energy and easily digestible protein, helping to keep those prone to laminitis strong and healthy.  Hi-Fi LITE has the lowest sugars and starch levels of any UK horse feed product.

Hi-Fi LITE is made from alfalfa which is high temperature dried - locking in the natural goodness - and then blended with quality soft straw to provide essential nutrition. Alfalfa is an excellent natural source of antioxidants and it is proven to improve the quality and quantity of hoof growth (Vet Record, 1987).

How To Get The Most Out Of Feeding With Dengie Hi-Fi Lite

Hi-Fi LITE is ideal as the sole bucket feed and when combined with a broad-spectrum supplement, such as Dengie Natural Vitality Leisure Vits & Mins will provide a balanced diet. Where additional condition is needed, or for those horses with a higher energy requirement, Dengie Alfa-Beet or Alfa-A Lite can be added in place of conventional mixes or cubes.

Hi-Fi LITE can also be fed as a hay replacer. Naturally lower in sugar than hay, Hi-Fi LITE can be fed, on a weight for weight basis, as a low sugar alternative to hay or haylage.

Hi-Fi LITE is a short 'chop' that takes as long to chew as the equivalent weight of hay or haylage, helping to keep horses occupied and satisfied. For horses on restricted grazing, Hi-Fi LITE is ideal as it delivers sufficient fibre to maintain gut function.

Respiratory Care

The alfalfa in Hi-Fi LITE is dried at a very high temperature which effectively sterilises the product, killing moulds. Efficient extraction processes ensure Hi-Fi LITE has a low dust content making it ideal for horses and ponies prone to respiratory allergies.

The suggested feeding levels are intended as a guide only. Always adjust your horse’s feed ration to suit his temperament, the environmental conditions, his body condition and work load. If your horse is in medium to hard work, or needing to gain extra condition, why not try Alfa-A Lite or Alfa-A Oil from the Dengie Alfa-A range?

How Hard Are You Working Your Horse?

The amount and kind of work your horse or pony is doing is an important factor when calculating the quantity and type of feed to give. Almost all the energy requirements of most horses and ponies in light to medium work can be met by feeding a wholly fibre based diet such as Hi-Fi LITE. If your horse is in medium to hard work, try to feed a fibre feed as the basis of the diet and use cereal based products to supplement energy requirements. Fibre is vital for the healthy function of the horse's gut. Try not to overfeed cereal based products at the expense of fibre.

WORK LOAD EXAMPLES
Convalescence/Resting Horses on box rest, or turned away.
Light work Maximum of 1 hour per day hacking, mostly at walk with some trotting and cantering, or 30 minutes of schooling, mostly at the trot with some canter.

Hard Work Advanced one day events. 3 day events, hunting 2 days per week, polo and all forms of racing.

NOTE: All horses are individuals, so always adjust your horse's feed ration to suit his temperament, the environment he lives in and his condition, as well as his work load.
