Case Study: Tippy

Tippy is a 14 year old, 12.1hh New Forest mare owned by Emma Haywood. Emma bought Tippy in October last year knowing that she had previously had severe laminitis and was overweight. Unfortunately Tippy got laminitis again soon after Emma got her, but has now been sound since Christmas. Not only has Tippy been sound, but she has fabulous hooves and has lost weight which Emma attributes to Dengie Healthy Hooves and lots of exercise!

When Emma got Tippy she put her on a strict diet and started feeding her 1kg of Dengie Healthy Hooves per day alongside hay and restricted grazing. Emma is a small adult and so rides Tippy and takes part in Parelli Natural Horsemanship. Currently they are at level 2 and are ready to move up to level 3. As the before and after pictures show Tippy has certainly come a long way since last October!
