Whinny on Great Form

Hello,

We have had a good run of results since I last wrote on here. Whinny has been on great form and is feeling so much fitter and stronger to ride. Her technique has improved immensely lately and is a result from lots of gymnastic exercises. She came 2nd in her first Foxhunter and jumped a fantastic double clear around a technical and very up to height course. We then went to the Unex Masters Show where she performed brilliantly. She jumped several clear rounds and was placed twice which I was very pleased with as she was up against horses a lot older and more experienced than herself.

I have what seems to be a whole yard full of three year olds at present that we are busy breaking for the forthcoming New Year when they will turn four. I have high hopes for two of them in particular, one is a jet black gelding by Ockland and the other is a bay gelding by Clearway. So far they have proved to be uncomplicated and very talented.

Frieda and her foal Con are doing very well, I was a litlle worried in the autumn that the foal was sucking the life out of her but with the help of Katie Williams, Dengie's Nutritionist we have devised a diet for her that has meant she has maintained her weight and condition and is still nourishing the foal, who is very cheeky indeed!

We are having a quiet couple of weeks at the moment and have been busy Christmas shopping in preparation for Amelia's first Christmas, babies are definitely more expensive than horses!

When New Year arrived we will be taking the youngsters out for their first introductions to shows. Early mornings with snow on the floor to get to the shows for the first class is never very appealing but when they start to jump their first clear rounds it makes it all worth while, so bring on the New Year and lets see what the new babies are all made of!

Merry Christmas to everyone and thanks to Dengie for their support throughout 2008.
