An essential necessity for his happiness and management

Alice Hallows has fed Dengie to her horses for years as she believes it is the best fibre available.

“It’s reassuring to have Team Dengie on hand” says Alice. “Dengie’s Performance Horse Nutritionist, Claire Akers has advised and guided us numerous times with horses that have various nutritional requirements. I’ve been able to simplify the horse’s rations to ensure our feed bill is cost effective, which is great when you have a yard of 26 horses! There is a Dengie feed to suit every horse in their range!”

When asked which Dengie product is their favourite on the yard, Alice answered Dengie Healthy Tummy.

“My top eventing horse, Fritz previously had pyloric ulcers, which we treated under veterinary supervision. Healthy Tummy plays a major part in his on going management and is still included in  his current ration. The chopped alfalfa is highly digestible and provides him with plenty of slow-release energy required for his workload and condition. I always give Fritz a scoop before travelling and exercise to help reduce acid splashing. I find that he is less apprehensive to move forwards which helps to smoothly begin his time under saddle.”

Alice and Fritz have been partnered for four years, starting at grassroots and progressing to Intermediate level, including a win this year at Poplar Park and double clears at CCI 3*. “Fritz maintains his weight throughout the eventing season, including long format events and travelling long distances” states Alice. “His coat gleams and he looks the picture of health! Healthy Tummy is an essential necessity for his happiness and management”
